With the announcement of the BC’s Restart Plan by the Premier on 06 May 2020, conferences in British Columbia can only occur during Phase 4 of the Restart. This Phase requires that there is either widespread vaccination, or “community immunity” or broad successful treatments to be in place.

It is extremely unlikely that we will reach Phase 4 of the response to the COVID 19 outbreak by November 2020. Unfortunately we have determined that the 2020 in person Conference must be cancelled. We will be hosting a Virtual event.

We are planning to hold the Virtual event on 05 November. More details will be announced at a later date.

We will be in touch with all our sponsors and exhibitors. For prospective speakers, all submissions received for the 2020 Conference will be considered for both the Virtual Conference and the 2021 Conference.

Again, we would like to express our appreciation to all our colleagues, especially those in the health care sector, who are working hard during this response to COVID 19. We recognise that we are all in this together and we are doing our part.

Vancouver, BC - The Pacific Northwest Preparedness Society and Emergency Preparedness for Industry and Commerce Council (EPICC) came together in 2013 to host a joint conference in order to expand opportunities for, and bring a broader perspective to, the development of emergency management. The conference will continue to cultivate information of specific relevance to the various practitioner groups within the emergency preparedness and business continuity fields.

This year’s joint conference, the Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity Conference will be held at the Sheraton Wall Centre Hotel on TBD, 2021. There will be pre-conference workshops on TBD, 2021.

This is the premier emergency management conference in the Pacific Northwest. It will appeal to practitioners in the areas of emergency management, health, first response, emergency social services and volunteerism, business continuity and academic/technical.


2021 EPBC Conference will be held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, 1088 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC

The EPBC Conference Steering Committee ‎strives to put on a cost effective conference for British Columbia covering six program streams for emergency management and business continuity. The Steering Committee works diligently to ensure we deliver a conference program that is relevant to our community. An important goal of the committee is to ensure we provide a cost effective conference for delegates to attend. Over the last few years the Steering Committee has taken a number of cost cutting measures to reduce costs. Incremental costs related to facility rental and food have increased which have resulted in small increases in the registration fees.
